AIA Baltimore presented Design Collective with four awards at the Design Awards ceremony held on October 19 at the award-winning Stewart’s Building. Both the Crescent at Fells Point, Baltimore, Md., and Art Academy of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio, won Honor Awards. Catholic Relief Services headquarters located in the historic Stewart’s Building and Charles Commons at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md., were given Honorable Mentions.

Catholic Relief Services Headquarters, designed for LEED Silver certification, was given an honorable mention from the Baltimore AIA. It is an eight-story, high-end loft apartment building composed of 252 rental units and 10 four-level waterfront townhomes. Building amenities include a demonstration kitchen for cooking classes, a 24-person movie theater, wine cellar, internet/coffee bar, a fitness/aerobics center, pool, and access to 52 boat slips.

The Art Academy of Cincinnati was designed to meet LEED Certification requirements and included the adaptive use of two historic properties. AIA Baltimore awarded this project an Honor Award.
