Two new multi-family housing developments in the Baltimore area are moving forward, ConstructionJournal.com has confirmed, with one of them scheduled to start construction later this year.

Bewer's Hill Phase II, a new residential mixed-use construction projects at 3607 O'Donnell St. will have 428,508 square feet of new construction with 434 units, according to the site. Houston-based The Hanover Company is listed as the developer on the project with Baltimore-based Design Collective, Inc. providing architectural services. In July, Design Collective reported that Obrecht Commercial Real Estate was working with The Hanover Company on the development.

The project went through various approvals in 2008 but was reported as delayed as of November 2010. In July of this year, the Maryland Department of the Environment said the project had received a No Further Requirements Determination (NFRD). ConstructionJournal.com now confirms that construction will start on this project in December 2011.

According to Design Collective, the two-building complex will also have 20,000 square feet of retail and a 650-space parking garage. Occupancy is slated for January 2014.
