Design Collective is working with Beatty Development Group, the Baltimore-based developer responsible for Harbor East, and Beatty, Harvey, Coco Architects, on the transit-oriented and mixed-use development surrounding Baltimore’s Penn Station. The overall plan entails up to 1.5 million square feet of new residential, commercial office and retail space totaling approximately $500 million in redevelopment. Design Collective is leading initial design concepts for the mixed-use residential development component featuring upwards of 300 units and 35,000 square feet of retail space, wrapping structured public and private parking. The overall intent is to transform the underutilized areas surrounding the century-old train station into a vibrant mixed-use community. Design Collective is building from its recent experience with the Central Baltimore Partnership and the Baltimore City Department of Transportation on the Reconnecting Charles Street Project , as well as its recent award of the Charles Village Mixed-Use Development with Beatty Development Group and Johns Hopkins University.
