Things are looking up in the Art Museum district as Park Towne Place is bringing new excitement to the area. First opened in 1959, the four-tower community is home to nearly 1,000 apartments—from studios to three-bedrooms— that have been fully renovated with contemporary touches and a revitalized underground retail area that includes doggie daycare and an art studio; a permanent collection, rotating exhibits, and artist talks speak to Park Towne’s mission to celebrate the visual arts. Not to be outdone is the outdoor swim club with prime views of the city skyline and private cabanas for entertaining. “Park Towne is quite a different place than it was before,” says Patti Shwayder, senior vice president at AIMCO, the company that is handling the project.

The Midtown Village evolution continues with 1213 Walnut Street, a 26-story luxury residential tower with 322 rental units that just broke ground in December. A fitness center, gaming area, rooftop deck, elevated dog park, and outdoor terrace lounge overlooking Walnut Street are highlights of the ultra-modern residences, with studios and one- and two-bedrooms available, along with 7,200 square feet of ground-floor retail. 1213 Walnut is the first development project for the locally based Goldenberg Group in Philadelphia.

Best known for visionary Center City residential buildings like 1706 Rittenhouse Square Street and the forthcoming 500 Walnut set to open in 2017, Scannapieco Development Corporation expands its portfolio in quaint New Hope with Rabbit Run Creek, a collection of 37 townhomes in an exclusive gated community opening in late spring. In addition to open floor plans and endless customization options—plus amenities like private elevators—Rabbit Run Creek complements its lush 23-acre setting with gardens and decorative fountains. “The project’s intimacy, privacy, and attention to detail will truly raise the bar in Bucks County,” says CEO and president Tom Scannapieco.
