Design Collective is working with Washington Propety Company to design a new mixed-use development consisting of approximately 140 luxury rental apartments and 6,000 sf of retail over four (4) levels of below-grade parking at the corner of Wisconsin and Woodmont Avenues in downtown Bethesda. The building will have eight (8) levels of residential — with a partial greenroof/roof-top terrace — over retail, residential lobby and a parking entrance on the ground floor. The design for the building is targeting LEED certification and is seeking to incorporate public art and innovative exterior lighting systems to distinguish its presence and sense of place within the community. The project is expected to begin construction by the middle of 2013.
