Design Collective celebrated the grand opening of Xfinity Live! in Downtown Philadelphia with the project’s development partners, The Cordish Companies and Comcast Spectactor. The new $60 million entertainment and restaurant venue is at the center of Philadelphia’s major league sports venues and effectively anchors Pattison and 11th Street. The building geometry responds to the site and acts as a dynamic passageway connecting the adjacent stadia, through the NBC Sports Marketplace. Restaurants flank the Marketplace creating a hub of excitement and activity all around. Through a partnership with Sony, XFINITY Live! also features state-of-the-art audio and video systems. “When the guest walks into that center marketplace area, I think they will be hit by this incredible multisensory experience” says Reed Cordish, Vice President for Cordish Companies. An outdoor plaza lends itself to outdoor concerts, performances and activities with an eye towards new developments on the horizon. Fiver Soraruf, Project Architect for Design Collective, adds “It is really exciting to see this project come to fruition. As a Philadelphia native and avid sports fan, I was acutely aware of the need for development around the stadium complex. Xfinity Live! will serve as a great place for friends and family to gather before, during and after games and events.”
