Columbia Lakefront Hotel Renovation/Addition

Costello Construction engaged Design Collective to transform the lakefront into a vibrant mixed-use community blending public and private spaces focused on the gem or Columbia, Lake Kittamaqundi. Phase 1 includes the rebranding and renovation of the existing 144 key 10-story Sheraton into 4-story luxury accommodations. A new porte cochere welcomes guests, where a series of stepped terraces engage the new coffee bar and premier lakefront restaurant.  A complete façade renovation and 10 story addition add +/- 30 suites with dramatic views overlooking the lake. Selective demolition to the lobby floor opens views to the lakefront upon arrival, where a new grand stair leads down to the 2-story restaurant and bar with open kitchen concept. Seamless indoor/outdoor connections to terraces with multiple double-sided fireplaces maximize sweeping views over the lake, encouraging guest to experience the lakefront promenade and nearby shops. Renovations include the 10-story atrium, landscape and new pool terrace, units and bathrooms, mechanical systems, reception and offices, back of house and kitchen areas, as well as the demolition of all rooms in the existing 2 story wing to open up land for future mixed-use phases.
