Health & Human Services at Hampton Park

Prince George's County

Location Largo, Maryland

Prince George’s County Health and Human Services (HHS) is comprised of the Prince George’s County Department of Family Services, the Health Department, and the Department of Social Services. This HHS agency is committed to providing County residents with access to the quality, reliable and affordable health and human services that they need. The County’s HHS objective is “Building Stronger Lives Together”, and the new Health & Human Services fit-out at Hampton Park follows that same objective, and as the anchor of the new development, this project is focused on improving the work life of the County employees, and creating a healthy and efficient work-life community.

In addition to the program requirements for Family Services, the Health Department and Social Services, the 115,000 square foot project includes a Senior Activity Center on the ground and half of the second floor; the Center is offered in conjunction with the Maryland National Capital Parks & Planning Commission and offers special classes, healthy programs, hot lunches and facilities such as a fitness center, and community meeting rooms. The other half of the second floor of the building is dedicated to a shared conference center for all the Agencies housed within the building. Other than conventional workplace on floors three, four, and five for the Department of Family Services, the Health Department, and the Department of Social Services, the sixth floor is primarily dedicated to a Command Center, with independent mechanical & electrical infrastructure so the County can respond to Community needs in times of crisis.
