First Year Residence Halls

Design Collective designed two new residence halls, totaling 784 beds, flanking a 120,000 SF health and wellness center. In addition to satisfying a need for more on-campus housing, Marshall hopes the fitness center will improve their retention rate among students choosing to live on campus. The University's master plan also includes new athletic fields for baseball and softball, which will be located near the new residence halls.

Completed in August 2008, the new buildings fit in well architecturally with the existing urban campus, creating an important new campus quad with strong public presence. The prevailing unit type is a two-bedroom suite.
