Greenleigh Community Center

As part of a larger master plan Design Collective has designed a 10,000 SF Community Center at Greenleigh at Crossroads, located in White Marsh Maryland.

The overall master plan is comprised of 200 acres and is intended to include approximately 1,700 residential units, 500,000 square feet of office space, and 100,000 square feet of retail. The residential units proposed include a mix of single-family attached (townhouses), single-family detached, apartments, and condominium units.

Designed to be an iconic building, the Community Center is anchored on the visual East-West axis at the center of the Greenleigh neighborhood, and is civic in architectural character.

The design consists of a clubhouse that features an amenity space and fitness center, supplemented with an attached pool house and outdoor community swimming pool. Contemporary yet resonating with mid-Atlantic architectural traditions, the design utilizes white brick and stone masonry coupled with an exposed timber frame and expanses of glass to create an open, human scale place of gathering and community. To compliment and create a sense of place within the overall community master plan, the form of the building is shaped by utilizing sloping roofs that open outward and engage the surrounding neighborhood environment and community.
