Meritus Graduate Student Housing

Meritus Health, Western Maryland’s largest health care provider, is looking to develop student housing accommodations to support their proposed Meritus School of Osteopathic Medicine (MSOM). 342 apartments distributed amongst five residential buildings and a common amenity building will sit on a heavily sloped, 28.5-acre site. These 4-storied residential buildings and the 1-story amenity building are organized around a central green space, to take advantage of existing site grade while respecting existing forest easements. Programmable outdoor spaces including a multi-use recreational space and dedicated bike path connecting the residences to MSOM campus promote an active lifestyle and wellness amongst residents. Energy efficient envelope design, access to daylight and views, integrating stormwater strategies into site design and biophilic design are all considerations.
